- Waterproof pouch for phone and keys — Salt water and rideshares are an expensive combo.
- Small trash bag — Pack out what you pack in. Turtle nesting season makes “leave no holes” a real rule, not a slogan.

- Coast Guard–approved life jacket sized for the child who will wear it (arm floaties are not a substitute).
- Pop-up shade only where parks allow it — confirm size limits.
- Extra snacks, a change of clothes in a wet bag, and one designated water-watcher adult.
